MAX
EASTWOOD
DESIGN

Max is one half of β€˜Me and East’. Chloe and Max Eastwood run the business together and when Max isn’t in the shop or with the kids you’ll find him at his tucked away workshop in Staverton just a short walk from the beautiful River Dart outside Totnes.

Max grew up at the workshop learning his woodwork skills from his Dad. They would spend hours there together making aeroplanes from off cuts, playing darts, tinkering and of course talking and growing their special and unique bond.

β€˜Clint Eastwood’ as Max’s Dad was known to all grew himself a local business designing, making and installing Kitchens and fittings in homes around Totnes and the surrounding area. He also sold smaller pieces in what was β€˜Eastwoods’ but now of course β€˜Me and East’.

When Clint passed away in 2015 there was no other person than Max who was going to continue the legacy at the workshop. And in the last 8 years now both Orla and Arlo, Max and Chloe’s children are growing up with workshop life and creating being an important part of their lives.

Max studied a Furniture Making Degree at Leeds College of Art in 2011 which introduced him to a broad range of skills and processes and made pieces which now are used in Max and Chloe’s home. After the degree Max worked in various positions within the timber industry to broaden his knowledge and passion for all things wood.

Max now focuses on creating bespoke standalone pieces from locally sourced timber as well as a range of homewares which are sold within Me and East. Max takes on commissions and is always happy to discuss any requirements you may have.
